Alaska
June 12 - 19, 2011

In the early 80's my dad took a trip to Europe where he spent
a couple days in Helsinki. It was near the summer solstice and
he told me about how people in the park near his hotel were able
to play frisbee most of the night because the sun just barely
dipped below the horizon. This, I needed to see. About 15 years
ago, I told my friend Scot Adkins about this and we created a plan
about visiting Reykjavík, Iceland so I could see the sun NOT set.
We talked about it a lot over the years and about ten years ago
we modified the plan to go to Alaska instead. Last October, we
were having a drink and Scot pulled out his laptop and we booked
our flight to Anchorage.
